What are your thoughts on Flock Cameras?
Larry says
I don’t see a need for Flock cameras based on what I’ve read and heard.
We’ve heard directly from the Sheriff that there are no Flock cameras inside Ojai’s city limits. I understand that they already have license-plate readers. So what problem would Flock solve that our existing system does not?
Is more surveillance actually needed in Ojai? Between our banking and credit-card transactions, phones, cameras, public visibility, and our connectivity, why do we need more surveillance here today?
If crime were prevalent, we would be having a different conversation. But even then, we would want to see hard evidence that whatever tools they are considering actually reduce crime and don’t lessen our freedoms. I understand why we do things to make people feel safer. I would want them to actually be safer.
